Job Description
As the Chief Operations Officer you will be a pivotal force in scaling and optimizing operations. You will lead the transformation of our infrastructure workforce and processes to support sustained national expansion through both organic growth and M&A. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and maintaining close alignment with private equity partners you will ensure excellence in execution integration and operational performance that aligns with longterm enterprise value creation.
Responsibilities
Strategic Operations Leadership:
- Develop and execute an operational strategy that supports the companys growth goals and increases efficiency scalability and profitability across all service lines and geographies.
- Lead operational due diligence and postmerger integration activities rapidly onboarding acquired companies into a consistent national platform.
- Define and track key operational KPIs across safety labor productivity project delivery service response times and project performance.
- Drive consistent operational execution across service lines and businesses focusing on job costing accuracy margin optimization and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee centralized and decentralized functions ensuring alignment between the field and the corporate office.
- Continuously improve operational workflows to reduce cycle times increase project throughput and standardize repeatable excellence.
People Culture and Organizational Development:
- Build a highperforming executiondriven operations team with strong regional and functional leadership.
- Foster a culture of accountability safety and continuous improvement across the national footprint.
- Create workforce planning models that ensure labor and talent readiness to meet demand across diverse markets and service offerings.
- Establish clear career paths training programs and leadership development pipelines to retain and grow top talent.
- Ensure field leadership adheres to labor safety and compliance standards in coordination with HR.
Mergers Acquisitions and Integration:
- Support strategic growth through identifying evaluating and operationally integrating M&A targets.
- Lead all operational aspects of postclose integration including organizational structure systems service delivery cultural alignment and cost synergy realization.
- Develop and refine integration playbooks to accelerate the speed and success of future acquisitions.
Process Optimization and Systems Enablement:
- Drive ERP CRM scheduling and field service system adoption to improve visibility and decisionmaking.
- Standardize project management and service operations to increase throughput predictability and margin control.
- Implement bestinclass operational controls SOPs and job costing processes across all sites.
- Design and maintain a national operational dashboard that tracks realtime metrics and supports proactive leadership actions.
Operational Reporting and Collaboration:
- Provide consistent transparent reporting on key performance indicators to the CEO and private equity stakeholders.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with Sales Finance HR Safety and Procurement to ensure alignment of operational and strategic priorities.
- Present regular updates on field performance integration progress and scalability initiatives to the board and investor group.
Client and Market Excellence:
- Ensure operational readiness to meet or exceed customer expectations across project and service delivery timelines.
- Partner with the commercial team to improve operational handoff processes capacity planning and customer feedback loops.
- Support the development of gotomarket strategies for expansion into new regions or verticals.
National Scalability and Infrastructure Development:
- Design an operating model that accommodates rapid growth while preserving quality safety and client satisfaction.
- Build scalable systems and shared services infrastructure to support a $200M revenue target.
- Establish national and regional benchmarks for cost structure delivery timelines and field productivity.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a COO VP of Operations or equivalent senior leadership role within the construction roofing field services facilities maintenance or industrial sectors.
- Strong M&A integration experience ideally in a privateequitybacked or fastgrowth environment.
- Demonstrated ability to scale multisite operations and implement consistent processes across geographically dispersed teams.
- Deep knowledge of field labor management job costing project workflows and field service operations.
- Exceptional leadership and teambuilding capabilities with experience managing P&Ls and crossfunctional field and support teams.
- Bachelors degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset with a track record of improving operational metrics and implementing performance management systems.
- Familiarity with ERP CRM scheduling and project management platforms.
- Excellent communication problemsolving and executional skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% nationally.
