The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Civil Rights Office is looking for a Civil Rights Programs & Compliance Specialist 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
Incumbent will assist the Contract Compliance section of the Civil Rights Office (CRO) and is responsible for the administration of contract requirements for a number of external federal programs such as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) OntheJob Training (OJT) and Title VI. At times this position may also receive process make determinations and ensure that all certification decisions are based on 49 CFR Part 26 by verifying the qualifying status of businesses and that businesses have the appropriate classifications for use on USDOTfunded projects.

Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing evaluating and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws regulations and guidance.
Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example technical sensitive controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others attends to nonverbal cues and responds appropriately.

The State of Alaska (SOA) uses four levels of proficiency to measure and describe an applicants level of competence in applying certain behaviors knowledge skills and abilities to accomplish a specific task. The four proficiency levels are: Mastery Fluency Literacy and Discovery. You will need to rate your proficiency level for each competency listed in the supplemental questions.

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
