The Opportunity
The electrician is accountable for delivering electrical work on time in full and to the required standard while striving for continuous improvement. The electrical is responsible for keeping themselves and their workmates safe while maintain a clean tidy and productive work environment.
Whats involved
- Install maintain and repair electrical systems and components on board commercial and defence vessels including lighting navigation propulsion and communication systems.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings schematics and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate and efficient electrical installations.
- Perform diagnostics troubleshooting and faultfinding on electrical equipment ensuring timely and effective repairs.
- Install and connect power distribution boards control panels and circuit protection devices ensuring proper configuration and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering mechanical and shipbuilding teams to support integrated system installations and commissioning activities.
- Adhere to WHS (Work Health and Safety) procedures and electrical safety regulations promoting a culture of safety on board and in the shipyard.
Youll need
Essential
- Holds a valid A Grade Electrical License with Mechanic Endorsement (or fitter where permitted)
- High Risk Works confined space / working at heights
- Capable of performing work in a safe and acceptable manner
- Demonstrate adequatetheoretical knowledge
- Ability to use standard tools and equipment related to the trade
- Possess good time management skills and ability to meet set targets.
Desirable
- HR Licenses Forklift
- First Aid / EWP
- Previous experience in Defence Government or Marine / Ship Repair or Heavy Industry
