Job Description
This position requires an active Secretclearance.
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to design develop and maintain robust database systems that support critical business applications. This role is responsible for ensuring data integrity optimizing performance and implementing secure and scalable database solutions.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Database Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience.

Database Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Design develop and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Optimize queries and database performance for scalability and efficiency.
- Implement data security measures backup strategies and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with application developers and analysts to define data requirements.
- Monitor database systems and resolve performance and reliability issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including data models and schemas.
- Support data migration ETL processes and integration efforts.
- Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with security policies.
- Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned
Database Engineer Experience Education Skills Abilities requested:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10 years of experience in database engineering or administration.
- Security CE preferred.
- Oracle or SQL certification preferred.
- Proficiency with database platforms such as SQL Server Oracle MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with performance tuning and indexing.
- Knowledge of data security backup and disaster recovery techniques.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB Cassandra).
- Familiarity with cloudbased database services (e.g. AWS RDS Azure SQL Google Cloud SQL).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) and automation tools.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Oracle Certified Professional or AWS Database Specialty.
- Must pass preemployment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
