Join my client an investment group as a Group Financial Controller to take full responsibility for the consolidation of financial statements across the groups diverse investment portfolio and lead the groups financial consolidation and reporting processes. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 57 years of experience including at least 3 years in a group reporting or consolidation role.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Consolidation and Reporting: Lead the groups monthly quarterly and annual consolidation processes ensuring the accurate aggregation of financial statements from multiple subsidiaries across different sectors
- Group Financial Analysis and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of detailed financial reports to the executive management team including budget variance analysis and KPI tracking; conduct financial forecasting budgeting and scenario analysis providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure all accounting practices adhere to regulatory standards company policies and legal requirements; assist in preparing tax filings and manage group tax compliance
- Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead and mentor a team of accountants and financial analysts providing guidance training and support to ensure high performance; work closely with finance teams across various subsidiaries and investment areas to ensure proper financial management and integration
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders and collaborate with senior management to inform strategic decisionmaking based on financial performance and market trends
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field essential
- Professional qualification (CA(SA) CIMA ACCA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 57 years of relevant financial experience including at least 3 years in a group reporting or consolidation role
- Extensive experience with IFRS financial consolidation and reporting in a multisector environment
- Strong understanding of South African tax law and compliance
- Multicurrency and international experience essential
