Description

Connelly School of the Holy Child is dedicated to fostering the intellectual spiritual artistic physical and social development of young women in grades 6 through 12. Our commitment to academic excellence and character formation creates a loving and supportive community in which our students can thrive.

The Director of School Counseling acts as a pivotal figure in the support services offered to students and their families. This role involves creating and implementing programs that address the academic social and emotional needs of students ensuring that they are equipped with the skills necessary for success in school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic social and emotional concerns.
  • Collaborate with faculty administrators and parents to identify and provide support for atrisk students.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive guidance and counseling programs for academic achievement and personal development.
  • Facilitate workshops for parents and faculty on relevant topics.
  • Manage US counseling team and collaborate with MS Counselor.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records and evolve best practices in counseling.
  • Engage with outside agencies and resources to support student needs.



Requirements
  • Masters degree in school counseling psychology or a related field.
  • Licensure or certification in school counseling (LGSW or LPC preferred).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in counseling within a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of developmental stages of adolescence and the challenges faced by middle and high school students.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills capable of connecting with students parents and faculty.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
