This position is responsible for the mail received within the Auditing Section of Combined Records consisting of legal documents from the sentencing court which affects the offenders structuring of sentences and release dates. These documents consist of amended corrected modified resentencing judgments and commitments court orders appeals etc. This position must identify all documents by name checking active and inactive records prioritize and sort depending upon the release date of the offender. Handles all incoming mail from diagnostic centers and/or prison units which consist of judgments and commitments must date stamp alphabetize check existing pending files divide among auditing staff; enter offender data into the Offender Population Unified System (OPUS); must keep log of all incoming new admissions and additional sentences assigning them to appropriate staff with entry into OPUS. Assist the Program Coordinator IV (Auditing Supervisor) and other Management staff with any other assigned duties for the need of the agency.
Working hours are Monday Friday 8:00 5:00pm

Documented one year of Administrative Office Experience.
Proven knowlede of the Offender Population Unified System (OPUS).
Documented basic computer operations database systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Proven strong organization skills; ability to multitask with large volumes of work.
Proven ability to read and understand a wide variety of court documents.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a high stress work environment.
A working knowledge of the Offender Population Unified System (OPUS) and familiarity with court documents.
Working knowledge of DACJJ Policies and Procedures.

TheCombined Recordssection is responsible for the development and maintenance of offender records and the calculation of sentences for all offenders who are incarcerated in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction facilities. The staff at Combined Records obtain information from a variety of sources including the courts the PostRelease Supervision/Parole Commission the North Carolina Department of Justice the Attorney Generals Office and federal state and county law enforcement agencies. The section also provides auxiliary services to the PostRelease Supervision/Parole Commission Community Supervision and the Extradition Office.
DAC uses the MeritBased Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications internal equity and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.
