Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multistep progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason thisclassification exists is to provide direction and management to program andoperational oversight of assigned facilities. The work responsibilities includeplanning coordinating and executing largescale sports and entertainmentevents ensuring optimal facility use budget management contractnegotiations and risk management. The role requires strategic oversight ofvenue operations budget management contract negotiations risk managementand the development of partnerships with key stakeholders including eventorganizers sponsors and community groups while fostering communityengagement developing partnerships and ensuring compliance with safetyregulations while enhancing the citys reputation as a premier eventdestination. The position reports to the Director of Parks & Recreation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in BusinessAdministration Finance Sports Management Hospitality Management PublicAdministration Facility Management or a related field and five (5) years ofexperience in event management facility operations sports venue managementor business development. Experience overseeing largescale public events andmultipurpose venues is preferred. An MBA or relevant advanced degree orprofessional certification (e.g. Certified Venue Executive Certified SportsEvent Executive Facility Management Professional Certified Property Manager)is a plus.

NOTE: Qualifying education training andexperience that provide the requisite knowledge skills and abilities toperform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Abilityto work irregular hours for overseeing city events work indoors and outdoorsduring all types of weather conditions to walk stand and/or maneuver aroundfacilities for long periods.

Kind of Examination
