Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Planning HWB Officer on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 12.84 16.61 per Hour

Summary:

The Hwb Officer (Planning) provides efficient and effective frontline business support within the Environment Department acting as the first point of contact for public and internal service enquiries. The role requires bilingual customer service skills and involves resolving the majority of contacts at first point of contact ensuring compliance with departmental and council procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for the public providing highquality customer service and resolving around 80% of contacts at first interaction.
  • Manage and triage contact cases including complaints and enquiries from the public councillors and senior management.
  • Provide advice and assistance on a broad range of services and online processes.
  • Make decisions regarding eligibility for specific services in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support the department through administrative tasks and effective use of internal systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and financial policies.
  • Update and manage departmental web content and ensure data accuracy across systems.
  • Promote effective internal collaboration to achieve customer satisfaction.

Qualification:

  • Educated to GCSE standard.

Essentials:

  • Excellent bilingual communication skills (Welsh and English) spoken and written.
  • Proven customer service experience either facetoface or over the phone.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Windows and related IT systems.
  • Understanding of customer care principles.
