FILE MAINTENANCE CLERK

PURPOSE STATEMENT: To maximize profit by performing all duties necessary to ensure that the frontend system price file is current and tags and signage are current.

SIGNIFICANT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To activate regular price changes on the list or change form. This includes all price changes caused by weekly ads deals and price reductions.
  2. To ensure that every item on the case/shelf/display has a correct price tag/sign. Order or make tags and signs as necessary.
  3. To perform all department manual price changes on the POS system.
  4. To ensure that all direct storedelivered items are in the item/price file.
  5. To monitor item file for correct multiple prices centsoff label mixmatch prepriced and bonuspriced items.
  6. To verify accuracy of item/price file against shelftag prices and the store price book on all DSD warehouse delivered ad Special Buy deal new item direct ship and PLU items and to determine:

a. If the item has been set up correctly/incorrectly.

b. If the item has not been set up.

c. If the retail price is correct/incorrect in the system.

  1. To understand the operation safety requirements and restraints of scanning equipment computer priceverification equipment and intercom system.
  2. To communicate with the store/department manager on problems recommendations for change and pricing/signage decisions.
  3. To print and verify each week with the produce department a list of all department PLU files.
  4. To make two copies of the backup tape. (One for the manager; one for the safe.)
  5. To make a list of bad UPC code information at all registers and report bad UPC codes to the Corporate Office.
  6. To secure the POS system so that unauthorized personnel cannot make changes in the POS system.
  7. To review the price changes and new shelf tags from the Corporate Office.
  8. To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by the store manager substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  1. Good communication and organizational skills.
  2. Basic mathematical ability (add subtract multiply divide).
  3. Able to give/receive complex verbal instructions/descriptions to/from supervisors/coworkers concerning store policy/procedures and use of equipment.
  4. The ability to read and write English: able to read instructions labels numbers price sheets printed paper and forms.
  5. Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  6. Work and educational history demonstrating stability.
  7. Works well independently.
  8. Attention to detail.
  9. Accurate with numbers.

PREFERRED:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Prior experience in a related type of job.
  3. Prior experience operating scanning equipment barcode printer computer priceverification equipment and intercom.

TASKS OF THE JOB This position generally includes:

  1. Mobility:
  • To move length of store and to the backroom of the store for supplies and return approximate maximum 100 yards.
  1. Work on tile asphalt or concrete for a maximum of 8 hours in duration.
  2. Pick up items from floor/case/shelf/cart/bottom of cart/checkstand.
  3. Attain items on the top of shelves approximately 84 inches from the floor.
  4. Reach and twist at the waist forward/down up to 36 inches to verify pricing pick up items clean equipment and replenish supplies.
  5. Grasp and handle wet/cold/hot/crushable store products.
  6. Recognize shelf tags merchandise bag size product size computer screen labels on products grocery carts signs and customers.
  7. Perceive color difference in produce/grocery items and color on computer screen.
  8. Use scanning and priceverification equipment barcode printer computer and any other equipment required.
  9. Use and respond to the intercom system.
  10. Communicate with and listen to coworkers.
  11. Read labels signs tags ads numbers and aisle markers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Inside work with variations in heat/cold/dust/humidity.
