Job Summary

The Clinical Associate performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The Clinical Associate assists with patient bathing feeding and preparation for treatment takes and records vital signs changes bed linen prepares treatment trays and other supplies and assists nursing service personnel with a variety of other patient care duties that they have verified competencies in. Relies on establish guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision of the nurse.

Minimum Requirements

Education:High school diploma or equivalent

Training: Completion of a CNA or Medical Assistant training program

Special skills: Communication and customer service skills; computer skills

Licensure: CNA or Medical Assistant; CPR

Responsibilities
  1. Assures admission paperwork is available and actively participates in the admission process.
    Actively participates in administering patient care and ensures a safe and comforting environment.
    Responds to patients needs in a timely manner.
    Assists patients with ADLs including meals bathing and hygiene needs.
    Performs/assists with range of motion exercises and ambulation. Performs cardiac rehab exercises with patients per protocol.
    Performs/assists with positioning patients and transferring patients from bed to chair or wheelchair or stretcher. Transports patients as needed.
    Reports abnormal conditions to the RN in a timely manner.
    Maintains personal responsibility for professional growth and development.
    Applies the knowledge of growth and development to appropriate patient populations.
    Maintains patient confidentiality.
    Maintains universal precautions.


Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of CNA program Medical Assistant Program PCA or similar program
  • BLS certification
  • Basic EKG skills
