Reporting to the Director Human Resources responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Support talent management initiatives and strategies aligned with overall business strategy
Develop and monitor marine human resources strategies and procedures and support the Director Human Resources in ensuring alignment and implementation
Support Director Human Resources in full scope management of local crew under Bridgemans Crew Management Ltd.
Partner with Ship Management team and Director Human Resources to support and manage international crew management
Ensure compliance with maritime labor laws and industry regulations
Execute Talent acquisition onboarding training and onboarding in alignment with marine human resources best practices
Oversee onboarding process for new marine crew employees
Draft and maintain employment contracts and monitor expiration dates and renewals
Support and coach vessel management on performance management and marine crew development. This includes administering performance reviews on a periodic basis
Document control and administration of international crew requirements
Support payroll and benefits administration as well as support the Director Human Resources in developing and maintaining market rate benchmarks for marine crew
Ambassador for Bridgemans in all interactions with public management and crew
Assist with updates and creation of documentation and polices employee handbook HSEQ policies Just Culture Work Environment
Lead or support training activities for all employees as necessary to comply with training matrix and competency for their roles
Support onsite management in crewing certification and local and international regulatory bodies
Qualifications:
5 8 years relevant experience with minimum 3 years in a marine human resources management role
Bachelors degree in related area
Marine knowledge an asset
Health & Safety knowledge is an asset
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (excel word etc.)
English written and verbal communication skills
Talent acquisition knowledge
Strong sense of cultural awareness
Ability to plan and manage change within the organization
