In office Monday Thursday with an option to work remote on Friday
$70k to $90k

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team as an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will report to the Vice President Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will play a crucial role in managing the financial resources of SMDC and its affiliates. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monthly closings including preparing and entering journal entries account reconciliations and general ledger analysis
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and yearend audit work papers
- Manage cash flow analysis and daytoday accounting functions
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls and facilitate changes within the accounting organization
- Provide support for department heads including financial reviews grant compliance and budget analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Experience in a nonprofit organization is preferred
- Proficiency in Great Plains and/or Oracle Net Suite
- Strong knowledge of MS Office
- Must be able to pass preemployment testing and background check
