Job Description

Position Title: 1.0 FTE Music (Strings) Teacher

FLSA: Exempt

Reports to: Building Principal and/or Department Head

Terms of Employment: 184 day work year. Benefits and salary in accordance with the LEA Unit A collective bargaining agreement.

August 25 2025 start date. Unit A 2526 Salary Range

Position Responsibilities:

Lexington Public Schools is currently seeking a dynamic enthusiastic inclusive and collaborative teacher to join our team of elementary and middle school strings teachers. This is a full time 1.0 FTE position and includes teaching 7th and 8th grade orchestras at Clarke Middle School and teaching 4th and 5th grade pull out strings lessons at a number of our elementary schools. Elementary lessons are taught at the same time as another one of our string instructors. Collaboration communication and flexibility are highly prioritized and are keystones of our program!

Additional responsibilities:

Job Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Music/Music Education is required but a Masters Degree is preferred.

Must have MA K12 Music Teaching Licensure.

Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess a high level of capability with technology.
