What would you do as a Documentation Lead

As a Documentation Specialist at HME Specialists you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of clinical documents prescriptions and authorizations for new and recurring patients. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate accurate billing and timely reimbursement by obtaining and verifying essential documentation. You will guide train and support your team prioritizing tasks and monitoring progress to ensure efficient workflow. Close collaboration with the management director will allow you to align on performance metrics and address any barriers encountered. With a keen eye for detail you will review monthly reports request necessary documentation and log certifications and authorizations into our billing system Brightree.

Your proactive communication with physicians referral sources and patients will be vital in following through on documentation completeness. This role requires a thorough understanding of current insurance guidelines and the ability to run reports to ensure timely renewals making a significant impact on the billing process.

Proficiency in software tools such as Brightree is essential for logging prescriptions and authorizations while ensuring their completeness and accuracy. Excellent communication skills are crucial for interacting with physicians referral sources and patients to obtain necessary documentation. Additionally a thorough understanding of insurance guidelines will empower you to navigate the complexities of documentation requirements. Analytical skills will be beneficial when reviewing monthly reports and running necessary renewal reports ensuring that all certifications are completed in a timely manner.

Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will significantly enhance the billing process supporting the companys mission to deliver outstanding medical supply services.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Guide train and support teams to complete what is needed.
  • Prioritize the work that is needed to be completed for the team and monitor progress
  • Partner closely with management Director to align on performance progress and barriers of completing the work.
  • Review monthly reports to obtain needed documentation/ request certificate of medical necessity/ authorizations for receipt.
  • Log appropriate certifications and documentation into billing system verifying completeness and accuracy.
  • Log prescriptions and authorizations into Brightree verifying completeness and accuracy.
  • Follow through on certifications and documentation to ensure completeness to support billing process.
  • Contact Physicians referral sources and patients as needed.
  • Understand and follow current Insurance guidelines.
  • Run reports to assist in obtaining necessary renewals in timely a manner.
  • Complete pick up requests as needed
