Job Description
This is a remote position.
SUMMARY
We are seeking a MidLevel Windows Migration Engineer to support remote assessments for Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations across client environments. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation in desktop systems attention to detail and the ability to work independently. You will be responsible for identifying upgrade readiness documenting system compatibility and supporting migration planning in collaboration with one of our Solutions Engineers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Remote System Assessments:
- Conduct structured assessments of Windows 10 machines to evaluate compatibility with Windows 11.
- Identify blockers such as unsupported CPUs TPM issues UEFI/Secure Boot misconfigurations or storage constraints.
ToolBased Analysis & Automation:
- Leverage NinjaOne to remotely gather endpoint data and automate parts of the assessment process.
- Run PowerShell scripts or other diagnostic tools to validate system criteria and identify exceptions.
Documentation & Communication:
- Prepare standardized reports that outline system readiness and blockers for each machine.
- Communicate findings clearly with the internal team and escalate edge cases or complex environments to senior engineers.
Upgrade Planning Support:
- Assist Janine Belko and other engineering stakeholders in planning phased upgrades based on readiness data.
- Support troubleshooting and validation during upgrade rollouts as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 4 years of experience in IT desktop support engineering or a similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 system requirements.
- Handson experience using NinjaOne for endpoint management and assessments.
- Proficiency in PowerShell or similar scripting tools for automation and diagnostics.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Familiarity with Auvik for network visibility and endpoint mapping.
- Experience in MSP environments or previous involvement in OS migration projects.
- Understanding of compliance or policy controls related to endpoint security.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Should be willing to accept a longterm workfromhome arrangement.
- Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
