In this role you will:
Lead and manage people technology and financial resources within the department ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Work in a business partner relationship with operations to codevelop and lead a portfolio of highimpact highcriticality capital projects supporting the update and expansion of pharmaceutical and utility operations at Pfizers largest USBased Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) and Drug Product manufacturing facility. Ability to effectively balance a portfolio of up to 40 projects ranging from $500000 to $40 million. This role primary supports the Kalamazoo Michigan manufacturing site but there are opportunities to interface with and support Capital Project Engineering on a global scale. You will be a subject matter expert and point of contact for Site Engineering Global Engineering and other Pfizer Global Supply sites across the network.
You will apply extensive technical and industryspecific and nonspecific expertise and have full knowledge of the requirements of other related disciplines.
As a Manager/TL of Capital Project Engineering you will have Project Manager direct reports. You and your team will assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity quality and clientsatisfaction goals and objectives. You will act as a mentor and subject matter expert in the area of Capital Project Management to develop teach and train the lessexperienced Project Managers across the department.
Effectively interact with leadership and partner with Operations to establish priorities and define requirements for the portfolio of projects within the assigned area. You will be responsible for developing longrange strategic plans for capital deployment and cash flow management to execute master plans in support of business priorities and serving as the organizational spokesperson for projects. Responsibility for ensuring that solutions are consistent with organizational objectives.
Ensure our capital investments use the best technology have the best outcomes for our business and align with contemporary standards (cGMPs OSHA NFPA etc). Understand and support process safety reviews and ensure requirements are included in the capital project portfolio.
You will be responsible for coordinating and leading project stakeholders in the preparation and submittal of Capital Project Appropriation requests (CPAs) to secure project funding in support of mutually developed project execution timelines. You will be responsible for ensuring that CPAs include project descriptions robust justifications full scope definitions cost estimates budgets schedules analysis of alternatives and other required information.
Partner with the Strategic Project & Launch Excellence team in development of case studies capital estimates business case development and timeline commitments in support of tenders for new product opportunities. You will be responsible for generating capital cost estimates and project timelines that will be used to secure new business opportunities. You will be responsible for project execution to those estimates and timelines.
Manage and lead strategic Capital investment programs.
Be a recognized Subject Mater Expert (SME) for bringing current industry best practices and equipment suppliers for pharmaceutical manufacturing and utility generation/distribution. You will be responsible for applying skills in leading planning and developing successful business processes for department improvement.
Provide or arrange for development of complete design documentation for portfolio of projects. Select manage and coordinate the efforts of design consultants and firms as appropriate. Develop Request for Proposal documents for design services construction services and major equipment items.
Administer resolve and control all design construction contractual and financial aspects of the project.
Ensure that all applicable Pfizer requirements are followed and that all state and federal regulatory requirements are met on assigned projects.
Provide leadership for the department in the technical skills and the latest techniques for project management and processing technology as applied to facilities and equipment design construction and plant operation.
Actively share knowledge and expertise within the department to foster a collaborative environment
Identify and implement potential improvements in processes or products taking calculated risks to develop innovative ideas
Oversee operational activities to support the departments shortterm goals and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
Recognize the need for development in others collaborate to create development plans and manage the performance of direct reports through goal setting coaching and ongoing assessment
Communicate effectively by soliciting input explaining complex concepts and persuading others to adopt a point of view while also sharing your own perspective and rationale
Guide the successful completion of major capital programs contributing to team plant and global goals and drive key aspects of the annual budget process
Provide leadership and line management to the team coordinating workloads assuring appropriate performance metrics and leading a culture of standard work and continuous improvement
Lead improvement projects manage and review ongoing projects conduct mentoring and training sessions and support the development of team members talent and capabilities
BA/BS with at least 4 years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 2 years of experience or PhD/JD with any years of experience or associates degree with at least 8 years of experience or high school diploma (or equivalent) with at least 10 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in project management software and tools

PMP or similar project management certification

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $112700.00 to $187800.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
