Job Description

The Marblehead Public Schools is seeking candidates for a Special Education Teacher for their Inclusion and Therapeutic Program Grades 46.. Candidates should have experience supporting students working on social/emotional and selfregulation goals as well as academic support. The special education teacher provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities based on targeted goals and benchmark objectives as outlined on a students IEP. The special education teacher will provide direct instruction to students as needed as well as partner with core classroom teachers to support student learning in both general education and special education contexts. The special education teacher should have experience with researchbased strategies or methods of reading instruction and the building of literacy skills in the content areas. This position includes official case management of students with disabilities but it is the expectation that the special educator will work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues to maximize progress for all students. This is a permanent fulltime position in accordance with the Marblehead Unit A contract.
