Job Summary:

The Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and advancing innovative research in radiation oncology. As a comprehensive program RMP is focused on improving patient outcomes through stateoftheart technology clinical trials and interdisciplinary collaboration. The team works closely with clinical research and educational partners to improve radiation therapies and contribute to cuttingedge advancements in cancer treatment. 

 The Summer Student will play a key role in supporting the research and clinical initiatives within the Radiation Medicine Program. The student will contribute to ongoing genitourinary research projects and assist with data collection and analysis. This opportunity will allow the student to gain valuable experience working in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment at one of the worlds leading cancer centers.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Assist with an ongoing research project in the use of biological adaptation of MRguided prostate cancer radiation therapy including literature reviews data collection and preliminary data analysis.
• Validate and further develop scripts and analysis tools to process diffusion MRI data collected during the radiation treatment course.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop a novel patient care initiative to further personalize our radiation therapy treatments with MRI biomarkers.
• Prepare reports presentations and other materials related to research findings ensuring highquality documentation. 
• Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions related to the planning implementation and evaluation of research projects.

Project focus: Title: MRguided biomarkerdriven adaptive prostate radiation therapy on the integrated MRLinac

Qualifications :

• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (e.g. physics medical physics biomedical engineering computer science etc.). 
• Strong interest in cancer research radiation therapy or medical research.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills both written and verbal. 
• Experience with coding (e.g. Python) image processing / analysis and/or research experience is an asset but is not required.
