Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse manager to join our Los Angeles Freight Forwarding office. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our warehouse facility in Los Angeles. You will work closely with our operations manager to coordinate warehouse schedule organization develop efficiencies and run the day to day operations ensuring that our SOP are followed at all times.
This is a full time Warehouse manager position with opportunity for overtime and career growth. The ideal candidate will have a great opportunity to learn about projectbased logistics and operations with room to grow within the company. We are looking to welcome someone with a bright and quick disposition to the Rockit Cargo team.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule shifts and ensure warehouse coverage as needed and authorize overtime
- Oversee workload distribution for onsite and offsite operations
- Promote best practices for cargo receiving checkins prepping and dispatching
- Responsible for scheduling equipment maintenance or replacement
- Responsible for preparing and scheduling any training required
- Scheduling loading and unloading of large operations
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment including forklifts pallet jacks and banding equipment
- Loading and unloading trucks/ocean containers
- Building and breaking down skids/airline pallets
- Updating warehouse tariff as needed
- Promoting a friendly and collaborative workplace culture
- Special projects
Qualifications:
- 23 years of experience managing an air cargo warehouse
- 3 years of experience driving a forklift
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Sharp attention to detail and ability to proactively problem solve
- Excellent communication skills
- Must wear protective gear and steeltoed shoes
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Strong prioritization planning and time management skills
- Skilled with MS Outlook Word Excel etc
- Must possess valid identification preferably a valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a security background check
- Punctual and dependable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with air cargo screening procedures a plus
- Knowledge of ULD configurations a plus
- Forklift certification
- Experience with inventory management software
- Experience in a customer service role
