Preferred Experience:

  • Managing landfill operations handling 4500 TPD (tons per day)
  • Expertise in multiple working phases and fill sequencing
  • Strong background in odor control and gas management
  • Experience in community affairs and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to manage potential expansion projects and regulatory compliance

This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with extensive industry knowledge problemsolving skills and a commitment to operational excellence while upholding environmental and community standards.

I. Job Summary
Manages the financial performance and productivity of multiple Operating Units. Ensures that Operating Units meet or exceed annual objectives and successfully implement organizational initiatives. Additionally it is responsible for Onboarding Developing Coaching Mentoring and Performance Management of all District Managers.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements an area of responsibility operating plan consistent with accomplishing the longrange established objectives enhancing effectiveness and delineating responsibilities and authority.
  • Develops direct reports.
  • Reviews and evaluates performance with an area of responsibility continuingly and establishes proper performance measures.
  • Counsels managers on execution of programs ad when necessary provides direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans per prevailing business conditions.
  • Develops operating unit budget in a timely manner forecasting financial and human resource needs for future time periods.
  • Assists managers in budget optimization; provides budget compliance support.
  • Oversees department personnel needs including selecting coaching and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination compensation and promotion decisions.
  • Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
  • Attends regularly scheduled Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews and executes prescribed programs on routing equipment utilization equipment maintenance and labor and material costs.
  • Implements and maintains programs to improve the Market Areas safety productivity and profitability; Ensures compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT)/Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other Federal and State regulations.

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education:Associates Degree(accredited) or in lieu of degree; orHigh School Diploma/ GED or equivalent and two (2) years relevant of work experience required.
  • Experience: 5 yearsof prior work experience (in addition to education requirement) in Operations Management including at least three years managing a team of two or more individualsrequired.

B. Certificates Licenses Registrations or Other Requirements

Must be able to maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record throughout the duration of employment in this position.

C. Other Knowledge Skills or Abilities Required

  • Experience in a position involving operations customer service community relations health and safety financial and human resources function; experience as a supervisor or manager; experience implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipment specifications; experience preparing and managing budgets and experience resolving labor relations issues required.
