About The Position
The Research Fellow/Associate will contribute to the Yoonggama Ma Nga initiative led by Dr. Vicki Couzens. This Indigenousled program serves as an academic home for Indigenous researchers and is grounded in landbased learning research and curriculum development.
Yoonggama Ma Nga centers First Nations epistemologies pedagogies and methodologies aligning its research with communityidentified priorities. Under the guidance of Dr. Couzens the Research Fellow/Associate will develop and implement research projects build partnerships and produce scholarly outputs. The role also involves coordinating key organisational activities including ethics applications fieldwork logistics management of the Yoonggama Ma Nga digital platform and the planning of engagement and partnership meetings.
Additional responsibilities include conducting literature and policy reviews and contributing to independent and collaborative research that influences social and policy contexts.
To be successful in this position youll have:
1. Track record and recognition for relevant quality research evidenced by publications development ofnew research initiatives research funding and industry links.
2. Demonstrated project management skills including the ability to support client and cultural relationsand balance competing project priorities
3. Specialist knowledge of Indigenous led studies of Indigenous culture art sustainability regenerativefutures and/or community.
4. Demonstrated experience of HASS research methods and planning including research design andqualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods
5. Demonstrated experience in industry engagement.
6. Demonstrated experience of research translation and policy development.
7. Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and support funding bids through excellentinterpersonal and communications skills and effective liaison with academia industry andgovernment.
