As we continue to welcome visitors to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and share our conservation story we have an opportunity for a passionate energetic and experienced Casual Wildlife Officer to support our dedicated Wildlife team and connect with our animals and visitors.
About the Role
Reporting to the Wildlife Operations Manager we are seeking a professional applicant who will work alongside our Wildlife team and will be involved in duties such as but not limited to; animal husbandry animal health record keeping and enclosure maintenance. We are seeking professional applicants who will be energetic enthusiastic and have a high level of general wildlife knowledge and professional customer service skills.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate III Captive Animal Management. You will have the ability to work independently and provide accurate daily updates and reports as required. Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:
- Can deliver a high level of friendly customer service to all visitors
- Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment in all weathers in a role that requires substantial walking in a workplace that contains animals including birds and reptiles
- High level of energy communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and reliable with a positive can do attitude in our team environment
- Ability to carry/support up to 10kg for a prolonged period
- Prepared to complete all necessary training and immunisations as may be required for this role
- Flexible and availability to work across weekends and school holiday holidays
