Project Lead the Way
District Teacher Lead
Objective
To recruit and appoint two dedicated District Leads within the North Lawrence Community Schools to enhance the implementation of Project Lead the Way (PLTW). These leads will support and guide teachers in effectively executing the PLTW curriculum ensuring alignment with instructional goals providing essential resources organizing districtwide kits conducting necessary training sessions and fostering collaboration among educators to seamlessly integrate PLTW. The objective is to enhance student learning experiences and achievement through the efficient and comprehensive facilitation of PLTW initiatives.
District Lead Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Curriculum and Instruction:
- Understand and be familiar with the PLTW curriculum.
- Demonstrate proficiency in instructional methodologies.
- Demonstrate Knowledge of Content:
- Have a solid understanding of the subject matter covered by PLTW.
- Guide the Learning Process Toward PLTW Achievement:
- Facilitate and support the learning process to ensure students achieve the goals of PLTW.
- Demonstrate Knowledge of Resources:
- Be aware of and utilize available educational resources effectively.
- Maintain Professional Relationships:
- Foster and maintain positive and professional relationships with colleagues.
- Organize Kits:
- Take responsibility for organizing PLTW kits.
- Assisting with the ordering of supplies.
- Oversee Organization of PLTW Kits Districtwide:
- Coordinate the organization of PLTW kits across the entire school district.
- Assist with Dissemination of Materials:
- Help distribute materials related to PLTW to relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate Clearly and Accurately:
- Ensure effective and accurate communication with all members of the school community.
- Attending PLTW Meetings:
- Participate in meetings related to PLTW initiatives.
- Demonstrate Flexibility and Responsiveness:
- Adapt to changing circumstances and respond effectively to the needs of the program.
- Attend Necessary Training:
- Participate in required training sessions including those held during the summer.
- Provide PLTW Training to New Teachers:
- Support the onboarding of new teachers by providing PLTW training.
- Work Directly with the Director of College and Career Readiness:
- Collaborate with the Director of College and Career Readiness to align PLTW initiatives with broader educational goals.
- Lead PLTW Teacherlead Meetings (as Assigned):
- Take the lead in facilitating meetings involving PLTW teachers as assigned.
- Be a Positive Representative of PLTW:
- Act as a positive and enthusiastic advocate for the PLTW program.
- Contribute to Scope and Sequence Work for K5:
- Play a role in developing the curriculum scope and sequence for grades K6.
- Support Teachers with Implementation of PLTW:
- Provide assistance and support to teachers in effectively implementing PLTW in their classrooms.
- Model PLTW Lessons as Needed:
- Demonstrate and exemplify effective teaching practices by modeling PLTW lessons when required
Pay
$750 per semester
Total $1500
