General Information:
The Shenandoah Valley Child Development Clinic is an interdisciplinary clinic that has been providing services to children and families from birth to 21 years of age for more than 40 years. The CDC is a grant funded program through the VA Department of Health. The clinic addresses concerns regarding education behavior health emotions development and the parentchild relationship. We serve a broad range of clients that include foster children and highrisk families. Our primary goal is to ensure children receive the support and evaluation services needed to help them maximize their potential. The clinics hours are MondayFriday 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Clinical Psychologist is expected to conduct psychological assessments across the developmental continuum which include: gathering pertinent cognitive social emotional and behavioral information through record review and interviews with parents; administering scoring interpreting standardized and informal instruments and writing comprehensive psychological reports.
The Clinical Psychologist works with interdisciplinary team members to develop appropriate interventions and recommendations that are based on the results of psychological assessments. The Clinical Psychologist provides care coordination services by participating in feedback sessions with parents and serving as a resource to parents schools agencies and the clinic evaluation team. There may be opportunities if time allows to engage in individual or family therapy.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an accredited college or university.
Clinical Psychologist license.
Clinical Psychologist licensure in the state of Virginia or eligible to become licensed in Virginia within three months of start date.
Experience and/or knowledge of developmental issues and childhood behavioral and emotional disorders or experience working with children is preferred.
Experience/understanding of issues in the assessment of diverse populations.
