Description

Job Summary
The Assistant Production Planner plays an important role within the production planning department leveraging their knowledge and understanding of business needs to handle the planning of resources for assigned product lines. The Assistant Production Planner plans measures and monitors capacities of a product line within the organization. They also resolve issues related to the planning of individual production lines. They play a vital role in problem solving within Oracle ERP and keeping production running.

Work Term: Fall 2025: 4 Months (Sept Dec 2025) or 8 Months (Sept 2025 Apr 2026)

Work Arrangement: Onsite 5 days per week (MonFri)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the scheduling and production planning for assigned assembly line at S&C.
  • Partners with production planners and schedulers to determine the needs of the line supply requirements and optimal scheduling for assembly operations.
  • Monitor current inventory counts dynamically recommending purchases based on adjusted production schedules and adjustments to one hand numbers when appropriate.
  • Act as a liaison between internal customers facilitating communication and ensuring all parties are informed when production schedule adjustments or changes are needed.
  • Update and maintain item data in Oracle ERP system to achieve optimal inventory levels for production goals.
  • Investigate and address challenges related to product variations and supplier issues collaborating with the buyers to develop resolutions when needed.
  • Generate and issue reports for weekly or monthly forecasts.
  • understand and comply with all applicable company policies and rules.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a postsecondary in Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management Operations Management or a related field.
  • Enrolled and eligible for a 4 or 8 month Coop work term starting in the Fall of 2025 (Sept Dec) or (Sept 2025 Apr 2026)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members adjusting communication approaches based on the audience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as a part of the team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete activities with accuracy.
  • Good critical thinking and problemsolving skills and an ability to identify potential issues and seek support for resolution.
  • Strong proficiency in utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for production planning process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products including Outlook Excel and PowerPoint.
