The Water Treatment role reports to the Regional Manager and provides leadership and support to park staff. They oversee assign review and participate in the work of staff responsible for developing and implementing standards and training for safe operations of water and waste water treatment facilities. The position operates park facilities in accordance with established ADEQ requirements prepares and files needed regulatory compliance documents and trains staff to support these functions.
Provide direct operations and supervision for the daily park water and wastewater plant operations.
Ensure that state park operations safely provide the needed potable water for operations in accordance with all applicable regulations and report to the Park Manager regarding all functions and activities.
Perform and conduct all necessary functions of daily waste water treatment to stay within regulatory compliance.
Operate valves pumps control panels and necessary plant equipment.
Maintain equipment and repair or replace basic equipment in the operations of treatment facilities.
Handle appropriate chemicals necessary for disinfection and treatment of WT & WWT.
Conduct and coordinate all testing and recording keeping activities submit all necessary reports and paperwork needed to keep the park operation in good standing and compliant.
Address all repairs and deficiencies of the system in a timely manner. Assist nearby park operations in the same capacity.
Maintain needed inventory of materials and supplies related to the water and waste water operations. This includes use of the procurement portal.
Responsible for the direct supervision of appointed staff. Assist in administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Ensure that staff support materials such as handbooks policy manuals and checklists are current and updated as needed. This includes staying current with best practices and regulations from state (ADEQ AWWA)) and federal (BOR NPDES) agencies and associations.
Coordinate with Park Manager to balance daily staffing allocation to accommodate facility wide needs across a spectrum of tasks including staff and volunteer supervision customer service janitorial landscaping building and equipment maintenance.
Knowledge of :
Water and wastewater treatment plant Operations and Maintenance practices and procedures including current ADEQ standards and requirements.
Park safety and education information.
Security matters state laws department policies facility operational standards and emergency response procedures.
Facility procedures.
Supervisory skills relevant to supervising employees and volunteers and special assignment personnel.
A business acumen incorporating compliance tracking and budgets
Employee Public Health and Public Relation tasks.
General office procedures and outdoor parks and recreation.
Skill in:
Using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.
Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing; motivating developing and directing people as they work; time management and organizational skills.
Fluidity in a water treatment environment; controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Develop and teach training curriculum for water/wastewater systems park safety park operations.
Two years of experience in a water plant to include work with water treatment distribution and wastewater based operation with time as a lead or supervisor demonstrated experience and operational acumen in a fastpaced work environment.
Any combination of training and experience that meet the knowledge skills and abilities (KSAs); typical ways KSAs are obtained may include but are not limited to: relevant degree from an accredited college or university coursework and work experience relevant to assignment.
Posses and maintain Level 2 Certification from ADEQ in Water Treatment Waste Water Treatment Water distribution and Waste Water Collections.
