JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
*** We are looking to fill both a full time and a temporary Community Services Crew lead***
The Community Services Crew Lead performs duties in support of community service case management and community service crews. Work involves individually managing and coordinating a caseload of adults who have been ordered to perform community service by the courts probation agencies other Colorado counties and various municipalities. Oversee physical labor and/or educational activities of adults ordered by the courts to perform meaningful community service. Monitor compliance with specific terms and conditions for each client. Directly supervise and assist clients with work projects. Operate light and medium work equipment. Perform proactive case management to promote client success. Responsible for screening interviewing and evaluating adults to determine their suitability for placement at approved nonprofit charitable governmental agencies and/or at supervised project locations.
COMPENSATION:
Hiring Salary: $24$28 (Full Time) USD Hourly
Hiring Salary: $20 $23 (Temp Position)
Compensation will be determined based on education experience and skills.

SCHEDULE:
Full Time Position schedule Operates on a fourday work week for 10hour days (ThursdaySunday 7am5pm) inperson.
Temp Position schedule This is a partitime nonbenefitted position working as needed Thursday Friday 7AM 5PM. Hours and days may vary weekly based on department need. This position will be working inperson.
The Ideal Candidate for the Department of Justice Services Community Services Crew Lead will be someone who possesses the following traits:
Natural Mechanical Aptitude Able to operate lawn equipment hand tools and power tools and impart knowledge to community service clients to build long term skillsets.
Mentorship Strong leadership mentorship and ability to supervise individuals with empathy.
Relationship Builder Ability to establish effective working relationships with the community government partners and community service clients through project management problem solving and value creation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Conduct Interviews & Evaluation:
Conduct initial face to face interviews and intakes with adult and juvenile clients ordered to perform community service.
Evaluate clients prior criminal history through queries of relevant judicial databases physical and mental strengths and abilities and/or needs to find meaningful and restorative useful public service placement within the county Denver metro area or counties within the state.
Supervise Client Work:
Directly monitor client work on community service crews to ensure the completion of assigned tasks.
Confer with onsite personnel if available to determine work project needs.
Assign work tasks and tools to clients.
Assist clients to complete projects ensuring overall safety of clients.
Equipment Operation:
Perform pre and post inspections of all tools vehicles and equipment. Ensure the safe use accountability and return of tools used by the crews each day. Determine what tools and safety equipment to use for assigned projects. Instruct and teach clients the proper and safe use of tools and equipment. Report any tools vehicles and/or equipment in need of repair or replacement to supervisor.
Establish and maintain meaningful relationships:
Coordinate meaningful community service and/or community service crew projects with an emphasis on building skills along with connecting clients to community and government resources focused on supporting prosocial personal and professional development.
Visit and maintain contact with nonprofit charitable and governmental agencies to examine environments and progress of clients placed and the continued suitability of projects and locations.
Maintain contact with community service clients via telephone mail or in person to monitor and report their attendance and compliance or noncompliance with conditions ordered by the courts.
Coordinate with the Probation Department Diversion office other Colorado counties and/or the courts on client case status.
Communication:
Routinely prepare and deliver court documents and/or provide testimony in court to specific District County or Magistrate Courts Probation and District Attorneys Office. Respond face to face in writing or over the phone with the courts about the compliance of clients under community services supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED
Plus a minimum of one year of related experience
OR any combination of education and experience.

Additional Details:
Certification in first aid and CPR within 6 months of date of hire
Must be able to work weekends with shift differential pay
Random drug testing annually.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment and a variety of hand tools and power tools.
Requires ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must have a valid Colorado drivers license. If you possess an out of state license you must obtain a valid Colorado drivers license within 30 days of hire date.
