Senior Mission Systems Program Manager

Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is actively seeking a Senior Mission Systems Program Manager (Level M) to join the USAF E7A team in Tukwila Washington. The Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) is a highly dynamic team environment developing and maintaining Radar / IFFInterrogator Electronic Support Measures (ESM) Electronic Warfare Self Protection (EWSP) Mission Computing Hardware Communications Military Navigation Tracker Performance Analysis Flight Avionics Program Protection and Mission Systems Integration and Test on the E7 platform.

The E7 is the worlds most advanced capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform having proven itself in operations around the world. The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously. It can provide situational awareness and direct other assets such as fighter jets and warships. The E7 program is an important program for Boeing with significant growth potential.

USAF E7A Mission Systems Program Manager will lead the cost and schedule performance management/coordination of contracted supplier effort the direct customer point of contact for the USAF Mission Systems IPT and report directly to the E7 Mission Systems Director.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Driving USAF Mission Systems IPT execution through the preparation and facilitation of the weekly program management meetings monthly business performance reviews and other program deep dives and/or nonadvocate reviews
  • Responsible for USAF E7 Mission Systems technical supplier management of radar/IFF ESM EWSP mission computing hardware communications and avionics components.
  • Manages employees and midlevel managers performing business management activities in the area of Program Management
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies goals objectives
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes
  • Manages develops and motivates employees and midlevel managers
  • Fostering a culture of inclusiveness ownership and urgency with a focus on having fun

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance PostStart is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Technical project/program management experience
  • Experience interfacing with and presenting to senior and/or executive leadership
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 3 years of experience leading teams to execute to safety quality delivery & cost commitments/targets
  • 3 years of experience with critical business and financial acumen including risk issue and opportunity management to drive performance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • 5 years of Technical project/program management experience
  • 3 years of experience leading teams in the development program phase including capturing significant programmatic opportunities
  • 5 years of experience demonstrating people management skills to include coaching teaching mentoring
  • Experience leading projects or programs utilizing Earned Value management and RIO management to drive program performance
  • Experience leading and influencing crossfunctional teams
  • Active Top Secret clearance

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel: Willing to travel up to 10%
