Your responsibilities
The Head of Consumer Technical Insights for Midea European Research Center will be responsible for monitoring European market trends conducting consumer research on crosscategory products and concepts and drawing consumer insights from a variety of sources to guide consumercentric product development. The Head of Consumer Technical Insights will participate in the decisionmaking and supporting R&D research activities to assure that new concepts and products resonate with consumers and win in the marketplace. The Head of Consumer Technical Insights will moreover investigate new methods technologies and processes to reveal unmet customer needs and be able to translate those needs into product innovation ideas to expand Mideas product portfolio. Furthermore the Head of Consumer Technical Insights will interact with the global Midea consumer insights and marketing community.
Main responsibilities:- Lead product and consumer research and insights via targeted surveys and onsite or in home interviews to search for or validate innovative appliances solutions and ideas.
- Monitor and analyze EU trends for the Mideas product portfolio.
- Research and understand the markets and competitors landscape as well as product offerings in order to define products and features.
- Work as a liaison between EU Marketing team R&D team China CustomerMarketInsight team and global home appliance product divisions.
- Proactively identify potential consumer needs and lead innovation sessions with internal R&D innovation team.
- Close work with R&D Engineering Marketing and Sales teams to improve the success of product launches and road maps for different product categories.
- Conduct research to identify emerging trends product features and devices that improve user experiences. Gather insights through consumer surveys tests and feedback and use this data to guide product development ensuring new features meet consumer needs.
- Establish internal procedures and best practices to analyze consumer insights data
- Introduce the VOC (Voice of the Customer) in the product development process
Your profile
- Bachelors degree in relevant discipline. Masters degree or above preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in consumer insights for home appliances in the EU market. Preferably with job experience in a market research/consumer insights firm.
- Very familiar with European markets and with solid knowledge and experience in both quantitative and qualitative research handson experience in conducting / moderating consumer interviews
- Proficient in quantitative qualitative and data analytic tools to translate VOC into innovative products.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to collaborate and lead projects throughout different levels of the organization.
- Strong collaborator working with multicultural and remote product development teams.
- Goaloriented and selfmotivated creative resourceful and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong coaching skills
- Excellent English skills in both written and spoken. German or Chinese is plus.
