About this opportunity:

The Senior Advisor Operations Excellence role is responsible for helping to deliver safe optimal and environmentally sound operations while developing Operations technical capabilities planning activities processes and standardization. This position provides oversight advice and direction for continuous improvement of refinery operations and related activities. This position will effectively engage and communicate with various individuals and departments at different levels of the organization.

What youll do:

  • Develops supports and helps implement operational excellence programs initiatives and tasks

  • Advises the Superior Refinery training department including on strategy and improvement

  • Oversees the strategy development improvement and maintenance of operating procedures

  • Coordinates operating procedures content accuracy usefulness and review cycle

  • Manages and advises on effective Operator rounds process and implementation

  • Monitors metrics data analysis and recommends improvements associated with operations selfverification expectations. Including but not limited to: tabletop exercises procedures shift handover abnormal situation management operator logs operator rounds operational readiness winterization etc.

  • Supports roll out and implementation of CNotes program and other operational excellence programs

  • Interfaces with the broader organization to build capability in operational discipline

  • Provides oversight and direction for continuous improvement of refinery operations and competency of the workforce

  • Acts as an Operations SME at the Superior Refinery and is responsible for effective communication and training on various topics

Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US

  • 8 years of experience in oil refinery or petrochemical industry or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or equivalent experience in oil refinery operations or operations engineering or related field

  • High School Diploma or GED required preference for a Bachelors degree in engineering or the equivalent in experience

  • Strong oil refinery specific and industry knowledge and experience

  • Effective technological skills and proficiency
