Director of Nursing Department Name
Location: Athena Medtech
Schedule: Full-Time 24/7 Leadership Responsibility
The Director of Nursing is accountable for the strategic and operational leadership of one to two departments ensuring safe high-quality and cost-effective patient care on a 24-hour basis. This role encompasses oversight of departmental budgets resource management staff recruitment and retention performance improvement initiatives and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Director will cultivate a collaborative work environment and maintain strong relationships across clinical and administrative departments.
This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can drive outcomes engage staff and align departmental goals with Athena Medtechs mission and values.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative and clinical leadership for assigned department(s)
Plan organize and direct daily operations to ensure safe efficient and high-quality patient care
Develop monitor and manage operating budgets and ensure effective utilization of resources
Recruit supervise mentor and evaluate departmental staff ensuring ongoing development and retention
Lead performance improvement efforts to meet departmental and system-wide quality goals
Oversee purchasing maintenance and lifecycle management of medical and operational equipment
Ensure compliance with hospital policies state/federal regulations and accreditation requirements
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and serve as a liaison to other departments and executive leadership
Complete all required competencies and professional development within the introductory period
Perform other duties as assigned
Education
Required: Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred: Masters Degree in Nursing Business Administration Healthcare Management or related field
Experience
Required: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in the relevant discipline or specialty
Preferred: 3 5 years of progressive management or leadership experience
Licensure & Certifications
Required: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC at time of hire; must obtain AHA BLS within 60 days if not already held
Preferred: Specialty or nursing administration certification (e.g. NEA-BC NE-BC CENP)
