WHAT YOULL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Weighmasters responsibilities include weighing trucks entering and exiting the facility directing incoming traffic entering truck and trailer information into Red Prairie and communicating any issues to the Shipping Office staff. This position is customer facing and is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing vehicles shipments and containers through the use of the scale house.
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee inventory and coordinating shipping and receiving procedures.
- Responsible for weighing trucks entering/exiting monitoring and directing incoming traffic into the facility.
- Accurately entering truck and trailer information in Red Prairie.
- Communicate problems/discrepancies to the shipping office staff.
- Communicating with customers and vendors regarding products materials and services.
- Operating scale house computers to obtain weight information for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Directing visitors customers and delivery drivers to the South Guard house.
- Logging incoming loads into the computer inventory.
- Working with the Warehouse to confirm truck arrivals to yard/dock doors.
- Measure scale load and document using established criteria.
- Weighing customer trucks as they enter/exit the facility.
- Maintain a safe organized working environment.
- Identify and report security breaches immediately to the appropriate team.
- Performs other duties as needed in support of business objectives.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School/GED or one to two years experience in related field or combination of both education and experience
- 12 years previous experience in logistics environment
- To ensure a safe and productive workplace candidates for this position must demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety. Any history of incidents including recent convictions for driving under the influence (DUI) within the past two years will be evaluated on a casebycase basis to determine potential impact on the candidates ability to safely perform the essential duties of the job.
- Ability to communicate effectively

- Experience with communication with internal and external customers
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Punctual excellent attendance record and cooperate with others
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Basic mathematical and computer skills
- Apply common sense understand and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Red Prairie and JD Edwards.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all employees and management personnel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Environmental exposure cold/wet conditions (40 or below).
- Material exposure moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to fumes airborne particles and vibrations.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time during the work period.
- Use hands or fingers to reach handle and to talk or to hear.
- Regularly required to stand walk balance stoop kneel and/or climb steps.
HOURS & WORKDAYS:
Weekend PM Shift 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM; Overtime Weekends and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well.
