Are you a strategic operations leader with a passion for logistics team development and cross-functional execution Were looking for a Transportation & Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our outbound logistics and warehouse processes with precision accountability and this high-impact role youll ensure the efficient compliant and cost-effective flow of goods from our facility to our customers-while fostering a culture of safety development and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Logistics & Fleet Operations
- Oversee all aspects of outbound transportation including routing dispatch and delivery performance
- Develop and maintain driver schedules equipment assignments and backhaul programs
- Manage vendor relationships including fuel contracts leasing agreements and third-party freight
- Ensure compliance with DOT IDOT and related federal/state regulations
- Monitor fleet maintenance schedules inspections and incident investigations
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Flow
- Execute slotting strategies and storage optimization initiatives
- Partner with Receiving Logistics Production and Purchasing to synchronize inventory flow
- Drive implementation and adoption of a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Ensure OSHA and food safety compliance across warehouse functions
Team Development & Leadership
- Direct coach and develop team leads drivers and warehouse personnel
- Conduct hiring training performance evaluations and corrective actions
- Foster a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Maintain records related to transportation insurance vehicle licensing and safety audits
- Track performance metrics such as on-time delivery cost per route and route efficiency
- Use data-driven insights to streamline operations and reduce cost per case shipped
What Youll Bring - Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent operational experience
- 5 7 years managing transportation and/or warehouse operations ideally in food manufacturing or distribution
- Strong working knowledge of DOT compliance truck licensing and fleet safety programs
- Proficiency with WMS routing software and MS Office tools
- Excellent communication team-building and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
