Job Description

Description

The Human Services and Public Health department is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the Financial Analysis and Accounting area. This role will work closely with finance staff and leaders to develop and manage budgets identify strategies for financial sustainability and collaborate around financial opportunities.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid will be performed both onsite at 625 4th Avenue South Minneapolis MN 55415 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefitearning employees is inperson in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In this position you will:


Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Ten years or more of program administration experience in government or an organization closely related to government.
    • Bachelors degree or higher in business administration or other field appropriate to the position andsix years or more of program administration experience in government or an organization closely related to government.

Nice to have:
  • At least four years of experience as an accountant auditor or financial analyst.
  • Managerial/supervisory experience leading employees or teams.
  • Experience:
    • Working with leadership to facilitate and set strategy; identify opportunities to further goals/results for the department.
    • In building diverse teams and creating an inclusive environment is a key qualification for this position.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Accounting financial management auditing and actuarial principles and practices budget preparation and control.
    • Leading an environment where team members follow a holistic and responsive approach for service delivery specifically with historically marginalized or underserved communities.
    • Cultural differences and the impacts of culture on service delivery organizational dynamics and ability to build relationships with staff partners and those we serve.
  • Ability to:
    • Communicate and engage effectively with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization around financial principles concepts and data.
    • Foster an environment that recognizes and respects differences and provides culturally appropriate services.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to examine and directly address the impacts of structural and institutional racism and successfully apply diversity equity and inclusion best practices to reduce disparities.
  • Experience or education around addressing racial equity gender equity LGBTQIA equity neurodiversity equity differing ability equity.
