Job Summary:The Instructional Technology Education Program Manager works with the director and Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) staff to continually examine new ways to provide instructional technology education and outreach. Makes major contributions to the team providing outreach and education for the learning management system (LMS) and the many tools and features integrated with the LMS. Represents faculty and academic interests in collaborating with and assisting the user support services team and and other technical staff. Collaborates with instructional technology support professionals and staff in CIT and other academic areas. Supervises the Education and Outreach team.
Additional Department Summary:Works collaboratively to continually examine new ways to provide instructional technology education and outreach. Provides outreach and education for the learning management system (LMS) and the many tools and features integrated with the LMS. Represents faculty and academic interests in collaborating with and assisting the user support services team and and other technical staff. Keeps abreast of trends and research related to learning and instructional technology. Collaborates with instructional technology support professionals and staff in CIT and other academic areas. Supervises the Education and Outreach team.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and four (4) years of instructional technology experience; OR masters degree and two (2) years of instructional technology experience.
Skills and Knowledge:Ability to lead and/or plan instructional technology transitions and significant changes. Familiarity with course management tool(s) particularly Blackboard Learn. Familiarity with instructional design as it relates to technology and online education. Excellent written and spoken communications skills. Excellent problemsolving skills. Ability to communicate technical information to groups or individuals with varying technical skill levels. Ability to communicate directly with stakeholders regarding instructional technology best practices. Ability to consult with and train nontechnical persons on instructional technology. Experience with instructional technology and pedagogy techniques and common standards. Familiarity with productivity suites and media authoring tools as well as supported instructional technology tools.
Preferred Qualifications:Terminal degree. Experience working with faculty.
