Job Description

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the Director of Database Applications & Integrations or their designee.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervision of student workers as appropriate.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Enterprise Systems Analyst will be the primary technical resource for Oracle Cloud applications and integrations at Moravian University. The institution is transitioning from Jenzabar to Oracle Cloud over the next three years and this position will play a critical role in that migration. This role will work extensively with Oracle Cloud supporting system configurations data integrations security and reporting while also assisting with legacy systems during the transition.

The ideal candidate should have experience with enterprise database systems programming and Oracle Cloud applications. Expertise in Oracle database environments Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and data migration strategies is highly desirable. This role will also support other enterprise systems including card access HR systems enterprise calendaring dining services and various platforms accessing student and employee data.

This role is ideal for candidates looking to grow in enterprise system development and administration while being part of a major ERP transition project. The successful candidate will contribute to both ongoing operational support and the strategic evolution of the universitys technology landscape.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary Oracle Cloud technical expert for the institution providing guidance before escalating issues to Oracle.
  • Support all aspects of the institutions administrative computing systems ensuring timely and reliable function and service.
  • Assist with the migration from Jenzabar to Oracle Cloud focusing on data transformation integration development and system configurations.
  • Administer and optimize Oracle database environments ensuring security performance and reliability.
  • Serve as a backup administrator for JICS/AMOS on campus during the migration.
  • Analyze user requirements to design develop test adapt debug and document systems and procedures in line with IT standards including the creation of custom Oracle reports and dashboards using Oracle BI and OTBI.
  • Serve as a backup administrator for institutional databases.
  • Assist with report writing and executive reporting to enhance institutional data access and service.
  • Evaluate existing procedures and recommend improvements particularly in the transition to Oracle Cloud.
  • Ensure that documentation of administrative systems is maintained to allow other technicians to support them when needed.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with Oracle Cloud service level agreements.
  • Design and participate in disaster recovery planning conducting regular testing to ensure system availability in case of a disruption.
  • Participate in departmental and strategic planning for IT and database systems.
  • May be required to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the Director of Database Applications & Integrations or other Information Technology leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or commensurate professional experience is required.
  • Experience with objectoriented programming and data structures.
  • At least five years of experience as a computer programmer with an understanding of relational databases is preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills particularly in querying data transformation and loading.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical users.
  • Highly desirable qualifications:
  • Experience in enterprise database systems particularly Oracle Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Jenzabar J1 and involvement in ERP migrations.
  • Experience working with Microsoft client/server environments.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce or JRM.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C# and JavaScript.
  • Strong analytical skills to perform system and process analysis.
  • Ability to learn new software packages quickly and adapt to evolving technologies.
