Job Summary:
The Head Varsity Cheerleading Coach is responsible for leading coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the high schools varsity cheerleading program. This includes planning and conducting practices organizing game day performances overseeing competitions promoting team spirit and sportsmanship and ensuring a safe positive and inclusive environment for all athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership
o Develop and implement a comprehensive cheerleading program that promotes school spirit supports athletic events and competes at appropriate levels.
o Serve as a positive role model and mentor for studentathletes.
Practice and Event Management
o Plan and lead regular practices focusing on skill development physical conditioning and team building.
o Coordinate and supervise cheerleading at all varsity football games basketball games pep rallies and school spirit events.
o Organize and lead participation in cheer competitions camps and clinics.
Safety and Compliance
o Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all team members by enforcing proper technique warmup routines and use of safety equipment.
o Stay uptodate with school policies district guidelines and national cheerleading safety standards (e.g. AACCA NFHS).
o Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and complete all required coach trainings.
Administrative Duties
o Maintain accurate attendance records and manage team communications.
o Handle team logistics including travel arrangements uniforms fundraising and budgeting.
o Coordinate tryouts maintain eligibility records and ensure compliance with academic and athletic codes.
Community and School Engagement
o Promote school spirit and student involvement.
o Collaborate with parents school administration and other coaches to build a supportive team culture.
o Serve as a liaison between the team school and community.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelors degree preferred).
Prior cheerleading coaching experience (high school or higher level preferred).
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of cheerleading techniques choreography and safety.
CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain prior to season start).
Must pass background checks and meet all school district employment requirements.

Enthusiastic and motivational attitude.
Ability to manage and resolve conflicts positively.
Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Experience in choreography stunting and competitive cheerleading formats.

Salary Range: Units (set by BTEA contract) 276.53/unit
