Job Description

JOB GOAL:

The Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) Grant Outreach and Recruitment Specialist will assist schools in creating and implementing comprehensive magnet branding as well as marketing and outreach plans. The outreach specialist will play a key role in building and nurturing relationships with the community engaging in outreach activities and developing strategies to increase awareness about the MSAP schools. Responsible for organizing multimedia advertising campaigns developing promotional materials (e.g. brochures press releases) and planning events such as open houses and school tours.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

11month contract (220 days) plus benefit package.(Class Code: 1620) Salary Schedule: Range 120 ($52307 $90884) NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and : Exempt

This is a grant funded position and dependent on grant renewal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Buildinglevel and/or districtlevel administration certification preferred.
  1. Masters degree preferred.
  1. At least five (5) years of successful experience in education with special magnet focused interest/experience in curriculum and professional development.
  1. Knowledge of the school and District policy and procedures.
  1. Strong interpersonal skills.
  1. Evidence of strong organizational skills.
  1. Knowledge of best practices featured in magnet schools.
  1. Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.
  1. Evidence of strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite creative design programs and social media platforms (Facebook Instagram and X).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.

  1. Oversee the development and implementation of outreach recruitment and marketing strategies and policies to increase public awareness.
  1. Work in close collaboration with SchoolMint to provide PD to magnet schools that results in increased ability to message and brand the school provide technical assistance to magnet school leadership on outreach and recruitment efforts including organizing multimedia advertising campaigns development promotional materials and planning events such as open houses and school tours.
  1. Increase program outreach by fostering collaboration among schools parents partnerships and the community.
  1. Develop marketing and promotional materials for each MSAP school in collaboration with school recruitment teams.
  1. Conduct market research to identify new outreach opportunities.
  1. Lead community presentations to increase public awareness of the MSAP schools.
  1. Create social media content to share with families community and stakeholders.
  1. Update the schools website to reflect the schools theme and ensure the content is relevant.
  1. Represent the MSAP magnet office at meetings with parents school staff and teachers students and community constituents.
  1. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholder organizations including communitiesbased organizations advocacy organizations parent organizations vendors and other critical stakeholders to fully engage them with magnet school opportunities.
  1. Track and analyze the effectiveness of outreach efforts through close examination of enrollment numbers and patterns and make recommendations for improvements.
  1. Support the MSAP program coordinator in strategic planning to support program goals and outcomes as it relates to outreach and recruitment.
  1. Develops positive community support for the districts magnet programs through public presentations at widely advertised parent workshops and other community forums.
  1. Assists with preparation of federal reports board reports and other reports related to the MSAP grant.

Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and down stairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and to be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
