We are looking for aDirector of Human Resourceswho will oversee all HR functions at CareerWise and strategically create policies and practices that support employee growth and development. Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief of Staff and People Operations theDirector of Human Resourceswill provide leadership and strategic direction in all HR functions to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This position will serve as a consultant to leadership on all HR needs and will partner across the organization to deliver valueadded services to all staff.
What Youll Be Doing:
HR THOUGHT PARTNERSHIPYou will use your consultative skills and knowledge of the field of HR to develop policies procedures and standards that adhere to federal state and local laws. You have a vision for how to be a bestinclass HR department and will offer insights strategies and process enhancements to help get the HR department aligned to best practices. You will partner with the executive team to communicate change and organizational growth initiatives.
COACH & GUIDE Working closely with leaders you will provide guidance and coaching to develop and enhance staff skills. You will provide your HR expertise in employee relations performance management engagement and retention. You will also create and lead training for managers on HR processes and policies. You will consistently refer staff to internal resources established policies and employment laws when needed.
ADVOCATE & LIAISON You will be a trusted advocate for staff at all levels of the organization. You will help staff articulate questions ideas process improvements concerns etc. and provide productive avenues for sharing knowledge with fellow staff.
STRATEGIC HIRINGCollaborate with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to develop and implement strategic staffing plans determining optimal hiring approaches defining necessary roles and levels and providing compensation recommendations to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
INCLUSION By building relationships across the organization you will be empowered to identify and organize meaningful team and organizationwide opportunities to collaborate and deliver significant work together. This might include professional development staff gatherings and events for external stakeholders.

Key competencies to be successful in this role:
Solid understanding of state and federal employment laws (within and outside of Colorado and New York)
Ability to quickly build trust with staff and management
Maintains confidentiality and does not disclose personnelrelated or confidential information without permission
Excellent critical thinking skills
Comfortable with managing conflict; knows how to conduct unbiased workplace investigations
High level of emotional intelligence and diplomacy
Demonstrates a commitment to the principles of DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion)
Lives out the CareerWise values and has a passion for the CareerWise mission and vision
Additional proficiencies:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional HR capacity
Experience with HRIS Payroll ATS and/or employee engagement platforms
Proficient in Microsoft Office and the Google Suite
Experience and comfort working in a fastpaced rapidly changing environment
Ability to understand and interpret the multiple complexities of the evolving youth apprenticeship movement

Location:
It is required for candidates to live in/near Denver Colorado or New York New York. CareerWise staff typically work a hybrid work schedule with varying days in the office and other days remote. Remote work is not guaranteed and the schedule must be approved by the supervisor. There may be occasions (possibly 13 times per year) for staff to gather in person. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is: $84400 (min) $115000 (max) annually depending on location and experience; this role is not covered by the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the FLSA. CareerWise offers a generous benefits package including group medical dental and vision plans shortterm disability 100% vested 401k plan with a 3% employer contribution and flexible time off.
