Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations ensuring efficient and safe handling of products and materials. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient inventory management material handling and shipping/receiving processes while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. Manage shipments using the sales backlog and schedule shipments according to promise dates to customers.
Scope of Responsibilities
- 1st Responsibility Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
- Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wear appropriate PPE including fall protection respiratory protection hearing protection foot hand head and eye protection.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the assigned work area as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
- Fulfill the sales order backlog using finished goods stored in the distribution center as well as finished goods that are too large to move from the manufacturing shop to the distribution center such as pipe fabrication and large valves. These items will primarily be loaded onto flatbed haulers.
- Supervise warehouse personnel and coordinate daily activities including receiving storing and shipping of materials.
- Ensure timely and accurate inventory control including cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce waste.
- Enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with production quality and procurement teams to support manufacturing schedules and material availability.
- Operate forklifts pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of warehouse transactions and shipping logs.
- Duties and responsibilities may change at the discretion of leadership.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- 23 years of warehouse experience with at least 2 years leading a team or in a supervisory role preferably in industrial manufacturing.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively outside your department.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations inventory control and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with valves castings and mechanical components is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems preferably Dynamics 36.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Excellent leadership communication and problemsolving skills.
Position Requirements:
- Standing walking stooping balancing kneeling reaching and sitting are some of the physical requirements.
- Must be able to meet and adhere to physical requirements as well as wear the appropriate PPE (steeltoed boots safety glasses hearing protection and mask).
- Will be required to work in the following conditions: heat cold noise and vibration.
- Must be able to work in dust and fumes.
- May be required to work extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
- Able to tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
