The Alaska Marine Highway System is seeking a dedicated and customerfocused Ferry Terminal Agent 1 to join our team in Homer Alaska. As a Terminal Agent 1 you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our ferry terminal facilities. Responsibilities include assisting passengers with ticketing and boarding processes providing information and assistance and maintaining a clean and organized terminal environment. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills excellent customer service abilities and the ability to work in a dynamic teamoriented environment. What you will be doing:
In this role you will work with a fun teamoriented office and provide support to staff Alaskan customers and tourist visiting. Including tying and untying vessels operating the hydraulic ramp using a computerized reservation system printing tickets for passengers and staging vehicles for loading. This position will give you the tools and knowledge you will need to advance with AMHS and help you to achieve your longterm career goals.

Applicants must currently work in the department that is being recruited for and have held or currently hold permanent employment status in any position in the classified service as defined inAlaska Statute 39.25.100. Permanent employment status is defined as holding permanent status in ANY job class in the current period of employment with no break in service (separation from State of Alaska employment) since the permanent status was earned.
Selected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures andCANNOTstart work in a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) position until Management Services or designee has received confirmation of the proposed appointee passing the required PreEmployment drug test. According to federal regulations all violations and refusals will be maintained with the Federal CDL Drug & Alcohol TestingClearinghousedatabase.TRANSPORTATION WORKER IDENTIFICATION CREDENTIAL (TWIC)
Please be aware this position requires the applicant (at their expense) to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) in compliance with federal regulations pertaining to certain maritime port facilities. All terminal employees are required to obtain a TWIC in order to work in certain restricted areas of the terminals.Information about the TWIC can be found on the TWIC information web site link or call the TWIC help desk at.
If you are selected for the position you will be required to immediately enroll/apply for the required TWIC card. The applicant selected for the position must have their TWIC card in hand in order to be unescorted within a restricted or secure area of the terminal facility.
