The Department of Ophthalmology at Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan is recruiting a fulltime Cornea and External Disease Specialist.
Position Overview: To independently care for complex anterior segment patients that are mostly referred by other general Ophthalmologists. This would require medical management surgical management and call responsibilities. To staff residents with complex Corneal and External Disease patients in the clinic and operating room. To staff residents with general Ophthalmology patients in the clinic and operating room.
Key Services: Can independently perform DSAEK DMEK DALK PKP Cataract Pterygium excisions Pupil repairs and other complex anterior segment surgeries.

Our clinic is comprised of 9 residents 5 full time ophthalmologists (2 of which are Cornea and External Disease trained) 2 optometrists (1 of which does scleral lenses). We have 16 lanes for all the physicians and residents to share. We have COT COAs and OA to aid patient care. We have access to OCT FA HVF specular microscopy lenstar pentacam Intralase/Excimer lasers Yag laser Pascal laser Norlase Laser an operating microscope and anterior segment photography in our clinical area.
