Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Under supervision of the regional director the incumbent serves as the regional operations coordinator and assumes the responsibilities of Institutional wardens in region 1 in their absence.
- Assists the Regional director and region 1 wardens in the planning direction and coordination of all security activities and operations of their respective institutions.
- Performs duties governed by broad instruction In accordance with established policies and procedures.
- The incumbent must interpret laws policies and operating procedures of all employee and inmates and inform public officials and other interested persons about the operations of the institutions.
- Ensures policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Reviews correctional efficiency and practice of operations and personnel of designated facilities.
- Ensures and assists in the conducting of institutional inspections as outlined in policy.
- Coordinate movement of inmates as required.

- State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelors degree and supervisory experience in a correctional environment or relevant military experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a yearforyear basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resource).- A Bachelors degree.
- Four (4) years of responsible administrative/management experience in a correctional environment.
- Two (2) years correctional supervisory experience.
OR- An Associates degree.
- Six (6) years of responsible administrative/management experience in a correctional environment.
- Two (2) years correctional supervisory experience.
OR- A High School diploma.
- Eight (8) years of responsible administrative/management experience in a correctional environment.
- Two (2) years correctional supervisory experience.
