This role helps to foster selfreliance care for the poor and the needy and provide opportunities for giving and service by: helping members become economically and emotionally selfreliant; providing access to essential food and clothing items helping members prepare for and respond to disasters; and providing humanitarian aid to relieve suffering; thus furthering the mission of the Church.
Performs working level duties in receiving stores and/or shipping functions. Stocks material/commodities in a neat orderly way; receives inspects and counts incoming material/commodities; rejects damaged items records shortages reviews and interprets accompanying documentation; maintains records of stock received/shipped; and/or moves materials/ commodities between locations. Operates material handling forklift and packaging equipment.
Requires a High school diploma with intermediate computer skills and basic math skills and at least 2 years previous warehousing material handling or related work experience. Preference will be given to those who have internal Church warehousing experience.
Experience in operating motorized material handling equipment including reachlifts. Must be able to read and understand English. Must be able to physically lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs. alone or occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with two people) climb ladders stairs scaffolding and ramps to store/retrieve items and operate a pallet jack containing up to 2500 lbs. Excellent interpersonal organizational training and leadership skills. Preference will be given to those already familiar with using a warehouse management system including the use of handheld scanners.
