Brief description of duties:
The Assistant Football Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the football program including planning and leading practices fostering teamwork and sportsmanship and promoting academic and personal growth among studentathletes. This role involves direct supervision of players assisting with gameday management and helping maintain a safe and positive environment both on and off the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach in organizing and conducting effective practices and team meetings.
Support the implementation of offensive and defensive strategies appropriate for middle school athletes.
Supervise studentathletes during practices games and team activities to ensure safety and discipline.
Reinforce expectations for behavior academic performance and sportsmanship in alignment with school and district standards.
Contribute to gameday operations including setup sideline management and communication with players.
Provide input and feedback to the Head Coach regarding player development and team performance.
Assist with maintaining equipment and ensuring all athletes follow safety protocols.
Serve as a positive role model for students and promote the values of teamwork respect and effort.
Help monitor eligibility attendance and conduct of studentathletes in coordination with the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
Participate in parent communication team events and additional duties as assigned.
Special skills qualifications or education:
Prior football playing or coaching experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of football fundamentals rules and techniques.
Ability to motivate mentor and work collaboratively with middle school athletes.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
Must pass a background check and meet all district employment requirements.
