Position Summary:
The Senior Manager SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of SEC Reporting technical accounting research SarbanesOxley (SOX) compliance support and special projects.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of SEC financial reporting documents (including Forms 10Q 10K Proxy) ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.
Prepare or review supporting information used to compile financial statements notes and MD&A. Prepare disclosure checklists and tieout documentation related to SEC filings.
Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit and quarterly reviews.
Lead technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos on complex transactions including research and documentation associated with assorted topics such as revenue recognition debt and equity financings sharebased compensation business combinations licensing transactions.
Contributes to the accounting close and reporting process. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as they relate to guidance implementation and other areas assigned as appropriate.
Participate in the SOX compliance program including coordinating internal controls documentation testing and remediation efforts.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support special projects and initiatives as needed.
Provide guidance and training to finance and accounting teams on SEC reporting and SOX compliance matters.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in accounting or relevant discipline; CPA and Big 4 experience strongly preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience with the preparation of SEC filings (10K 10Q Proxy 8K) and technical accounting research in a financial reporting role for a publicly traded company Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Thorough understanding of SEC Reporting and US GAAP ability to independently research apply and document results effectively.
Experience in developing technical memos to support accounting considerations and conclusions reached.
Demonstrated problemsolving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to meet monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines.
Experience with SEC reporting software (e.g. Workiva) and ERP systems.
Additional Skills/Experience/Requirements:

Strong professional experience in a similar role within the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry.
Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask prioritize and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic crossfunctional teamwork environment.
Excellent collaboration skills with strong diligence and the ability to multitask and manage complexity.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to travel 10% domestically.
All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.

Target Base Pay Range:
