SAFETY & SECURITY LEAD The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a fulltime Safety & Security Lead at our North Campus home to Cross Trainers Academy our K412th grade Christian School. This position will supervise the North Campus safety team and is responsible for assisting in providing a safe environment for employees students and visitors at the North Campus. The Safety & Security Lead will also assist with the implementation of safety training programs and emergency preparedness.
WORK SCHEDULE: Fulltime MondayFriday 8:00am4:00pm with the flexibility to adjust schedule or work extra hours if additional support is needed
LOCATION: North Campus 1530 W Center Street Milwaukee WI. 53206 HIRING RANGE: $25.42$26.83 hourly
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Supervise the North Campus safety team by providing regular assessments of key competencies and accountability to department policies and procedures
- Assist in the improvement and reinforcement of the safety mindset culture and programs
- Assist in the maintenance of all Emergency Preparedness plans including E.O.C. safety tours fire drills disaster drills and other emergency drills
- Assist with overseeing the implementation of safety and security programs
- Support enforcing safety compliance standards when called to assist in specific situations
- Assist with training safety team on conflict resolution approved deescalation procedures and emergency response
- Assist safety team with ensuring that the building is secure and that unauthorized persons are prevented from accessing restricted areas
- Collaborate with campus leadership and staff on security and safety procedures and communication
- Participate in the development coordination and delivery of safety related orientation education and required training to staff as needed
- Implement all required safety and code compliance
- Respond to alarms and emergency calls requesting assistance from emergency personnel for high risk situations
- Conduct regular security and safety checks to proactively identify issues and resolutions
- Assist with ensuring all required tests inspections preventive maintenance and repairs on safety related equipment and systems are properly performed on time.
- Keep current with regulatory updates through literature and electronic means that effect the organization
- Help maintain strategic relationships and networks with law enforcement fire and rescue government and other welfare agencies
- Perform monthly inventory checks for First Aid supplies monthly fire extinguisher checks spill kits etc.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelors Degree in Education Emergency Management or related field preferred
- 5 years of professional experience in emergency response public safety or related field. Some combination of education and experience may be applied to fulfill these requirements.
- Previous leadership experience required
- Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record
- A mature Christian with a servants heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population
- Ability to recognize onsite risk factors and take appropriate action with firmness and tact
- Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills
- Ability to positively address staff performance using coaching methods that promote growth
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments

- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively
- Must be able to interpret and apply local state and federal regulations
- Good understanding of emergency systems and alarm systems
- Ability to remain positive and calm and to demonstrate fair consistent and sound judgement when dealing with problematic behavior or chaotic or conflicting situations
- Be a dynamic actionoriented team player who is selfmotivated and confident in making independent decisions
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Must be able to handle physical workload ability to stand or sit of long periods of time walking stair climbing kneeling squatting crouching reaching handling and gripping without difficulty repetitive movement of both hands and arms occasional lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 35 lbs. a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart) and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly as well as intervening in physical confrontations if necessary
