NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: Jr/Sr High School Physical Education/Health Teacher
REPORTS TO: Jr/Sr High School Principal
STARTING DATE: August 2025
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Shall be a graduate of a recognized college or university.
- Shall hold a valid Michigan teachers certificate with a MA (health) and MB (physical education) certification.
- Must meet Highly Qualified certification requirements.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience teaching physical education/health.
- Ability to work/teach inperson with an understanding of how to use Google Classroom and other online instructional tools.
- Experience with Standards Based Grading.
- Understanding of best practices in teaching used to increase student engagement literacy and student achievement/outcomes.
- Familiarity with 504/IEP plans and accommodation strategies for all learners.
- Knowledge and experience in highly engaging instructional strategies and MTSS.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others with a positive/professional attitude.
- Strong work ethic with excellent work habits and experience in working with junior/senior high students.
- Ability to work with students at all academic levels and be a positive team member throughout the building and district.
- Willingness to coach school athletic teams and/or advise schoolrelated clubs/activities.
