Job Description
HM Note: This hybrid contract role is three 3 days in office. Candidates resume must include first and last name.
Description
Responsibilities: and nbsp;
- Provides advice on the testing strategy test plans the selection of testing tools and the identification of resources required for testing and nbsp;
- Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and nonGraphical User Interface (GUI) environments including the of systems integration tests specialized tests and user acceptance testing (e.g. stress tests) and nbsp;
- The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. and nbsp;
- The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis design development implementation and ongoing support of the required systems and nbsp;
General Skills: and nbsp;
- Experience in planning organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience level and nbsp;
- Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development design implementation and maintenance of applications and nbsp;
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test cases and nbsp;
- Knowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms and nbsp;
- Experience executing functional tests nonfunctional tests and systems level integration tests and nbsp;
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities and nbsp;
- Experience with quality assurance principles practices tools and structured methodologies and nbsp;
- Experience creating testing strategy documentation test plans test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing including technical and business functional validation and nbsp;
- Experience in quality assurance and testing including unit testing integration testing load testing performance testing etc. and nbsp;
- Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle and nbsp;
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills; organizational creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills and nbsp;
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines and nbsp;
- Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools and nbsp;
Desirable Skills: and nbsp;
- Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language and nbsp;
- Experience in the use of information retrieval packages and nbsp;
- Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an objectoriented environment and nbsp;
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles concepts policies and practices. and nbsp;
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards and nbsp;
- Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems and nbsp;
- Experience coding automated test scripts to produce sets of automated test cases and nbsp;
- Experience testing Commercial Offthe Shelf Applications (COTS)

QA Skills 45
- 25 years of experience in executing testingrelated activities and data reconciliation for large complex businesscritical systems with support from Senior team members.
- 25 years of experience in assisting with and nbsp;test planning and nbsp;test cases and expected test results for complex business systems under the guidance of QA lead.
- Some experience in conducting data analysis cleansing conversion and reconciliation on large complex systems with oversight from Sr QA staff.
- 25 years of experience in executing test cases and scenarios for large complex systems with a focus on understanding and following detailed test plans.
- Good coordination and organizational skills to assist with QA activities managing tasks within timelines and handling competing priorities.
- Some Experience in and nbsp;Accessibility testing and nbsp;aligned with AODA standards.
Technical Skills 35
- Knowledge of and nbsp;workflow and nbsp;portfolio management and ruledriven business solutions.
- Familiarity with and nbsp;webbased 3tier software platforms.
- Proficiency with testing tools and problem tracking software (e.g. Jira Bugzilla Microfocus Product Suite).
- Good understanding of and nbsp;Oracle database tools.
- Proficient in desktop tools (Visio MS Office MS Project MS Outlook).
- Working knowledge of and nbsp;custom implementations and nbsp;and and nbsp;COTS implementations including IBM JRules Engine.
- Working knowledge of and nbsp;webbased application development.
- Familiarity with and nbsp;Accessibility testing tools and nbsp;like WAVES JAWS NVDA and Compliance Sheriff.
